KAZAKH INVEST participated in the largest online conference “Think Global”

KAZAKH INVEST presented the investment opportunities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and measures of state support for investors in the framework of the largest international Think Global Conference. This year, more than 16 000 people participated in the event, three quarters of whom represent the TOP-500 of the world's largest companies.

The main issues on the agenda of the event were global trends and tendencies, new opportunities for economic development, modern technologies, as well as problems associated with global trade and investment, and changes in the world economy during a pandemic.

The speakers at the event were experts from international investment attraction agencies from dozens of countries around the world, such as Singapore, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain, Canada, Turkey, etc.

During his speech, Zhandos Temirgali Managing Director of “KAZAKH INVEST” NC” JSC, acquainted the participants with the innovations in the system of attracting investments to Kazakhstan, investment opportunities, current measures of state support for investments and successful cases of project implementation by large investors.

“The investment opportunities of Kazakhstan have been highly appreciated by many of the world's largest transnational companies. The list of the largest investors in Kazakhstan includes not only enterprises in the mining and oil and gas industries, but also companies in the light and food industries, chemical and engineering industries, as well as dozens of infrastructure and transport companies from various countries.

In January of this year, the Government of Kazakhstan presented a new conceptual instrument of state support - the Agreement on Investments for large projects in priority sectors. The agreement provides for a number of tax benefits and incentives, such as exemption from corporate income tax, land tax and property tax, duty-free import of equipment and state in-kind grants,” said Zhandos Temirgali during his speech.

It is worth noting that the Think Global Conference, hosted by the International Trade Council (headquarters in the USA), has played a key role in bringing together heads of companies and government organizations from around the world to expand opportunities for international trade and investment since 1982. This year's event will run from April 12 to April 15, 2021. In addition to attracting investment, the four-day conference will discuss such topics as: trade finance and export insurance, free trade, legal issues, online sales, patents, trademarks and other legal protection, marketing and branding, logistics, etc.
