Prospects of Bilateral Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein Discussed in Vaduz
Vaduz, May 11, 2021 – During the working visit to Vaduz, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Switzerland and (concurrently) Liechtenstein Alibek Bakayev was received by Daniel Risch, Head of the Government of the Principality. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current agenda and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation.
The Ambassador also held a number of meetings with the official and business communities of Liechtenstein.
In particular, he discussed with the Mayor of Vaduz Manfred Bischof, the possibilities of establishing direct contacts between the capitals of the both countries in the field of economy, finance, culture and tourism.
At the meeting with Director of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brigitte Haas, the sides discussed the possibilities of expanding the treaty and legal basis for the institutional deepening of cooperation between the two countries.
The financial and business community of Liechtenstein – a recognized world class financial center, are interested in learning more about the prospects of cooperation with the Astana International Financial Center. A detailed discussion of this direction took place during the meeting of Ambassador Bakayev with the top management of the LGT Group.
Along with the financial and banking sector, Liechtenstein's economy is based on industry (up to 40% of GDP). During the visit, the Ambassador also held talks on the possibility of expanding cooperation with the management of companies such as Hilti, Balzers Optics, Ospelt Food, Hoval and Ivoclar Vivadent, which occupy leading positions in their industries in the global market.
The Liechtenstein business community was presented with the advantages of the investment climate and the export potential of Kazakhstan and invited to participate in the implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan.
One of the important points of the visit was the discussion of the exchange in the field of culture and art between Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein. The Ambassador
discussed with Director of the Liechtenstein National Museum Professor Rainer Vollkommer the possibilities on holding historical and art exhibitions dedicated to Kazakhstan in Vaduz.
The visit was held with the active participation and assistance of the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Liechtenstein Volker Schmid.
